Course Description
CAD 2 is the continuation of CAD 1, which will require more skill and work. This class will have you completing mechanical drawings, AutoCAD drawings, and OnShape drawings. When you begin mechanical drawing, you will create orthographic projection drawings instead of the 2D drawings from the previous course. This course will require the skills from the previous course, as well as some new ones, including being able to read a scale better. After completing the mechanical drawings, you will move on to AutoCAD. Using AutoCAD will be similar to the previous course, except you will complete more orthographic projection drawings than before, and you will also learn how to do section drawings. Once finished in AutoCAD, you will move on to OnShape, where you will complete a few orthographic projection drawings before moving on to complete sections, auxiliaries, and assemblies as well. Below are some examples of drawings I completed.
2 Mechanical Drawings
Isometric Mechanical Drawing
2 AutoCAD Single View Drawings
2 AutoCAD Orthographic Projection Drawings
2 AutoCAD Section Drawings
Material Presentation
4 OnShape Drawings
OnShape Section Drawing
OnShape Auxiliary Drawing
OnShape Bolt and Thread Drawing
OnShape Assembly Drawing
Conclusion
In conclusion, I believe this class was a valuable use of my time. Not only did I enjoy the time spent taking this course, it also allowed me to learn valuable skills that can transfer to other parts of life that are separate from this course. This class was able to help me to learn that I need to utilize my time to the best of my ability in order to complete the work, which is a skill that can transfer to any job/career that one may become involved in. The material in the class was challenging, but fair, as this is a level 2 course which is designed to challenge you and make you solve problems you haven't had before. This material also contributed to helping me better learn to work through challenges that present themselves to me, because often, you may have made a mistake that requires you to retrace your steps and potentially change work you just completed. This also helped teach me better perseverance, as you shouldn't waste time to sit there and should instead move forward with a solution. In summary, I believe taking this class was a good choice that taught me transferable skills.
