The Drummer
Well it's time for the show.
I guess we gotta pack up, which means I gotta tear down that giant drum set. At least I'll have some help from the other band members moving the pieces of the 3 foot tall drum riser. Glad I like playing in front of crowds, since a lot of people get nervous. First order of business is taking the drums off their stands, not too bad, it'll just be setting up that's annoying. Good thing I've got my brother to help me pack up. I hand him the drums and he puts them in a neat stack in the corner of the garage. Next comes tearing down the stands. This is the worst part. I'm really particular about how I put them away so I can set them up exactly how I had them, which makes it feel better to play.
Well I sure am glad I had help cause I couldn't carry it all down by myself. Now to load everything on the truck, the fun part. We begin to move amps, crates, drums, and other such things onto the back of the rented U-Haul. Now comes the harder part. Loading the giant drum riser on. We need a couple guys for this. I get on one of the corners and lift it up the ramp. Good, it's on the truck. Well, that's the last of our stuff. Good thing too, cause that's most of the space. At least I get to ride in the U-Haul. It's always fun for some reason that I'm not sure of. I hop into the passenger seat in the cab. The guitarist takes off the emergency brake, shifts the truck into drive, and off we go.

The Bass Player
Alright, sweet. At the show and ready to set up. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous, like anyone would be. Time to set my stuff up. First I grab some help to carry my amp and bass head. We set up the stack and get it all plugged in. Perfect. Now I get to help the drummer. Yay. He gets pretty particular, but at least we have time for that, and he's always grateful for the help. I open the giant bag holding the stands, and begin handing some up. Cymbal stands, drum stands, you name it. It's a pretty big drum set, and it looks pretty cool too. As he gets them set where he wants them, I unpack and unfold the ones going to him next. Once we set them up, it's time for drums and cymbals themselves. I hand them up, and he gets them set up just where he wants them.
Soundcheck time. We're gonna play one we know good, AC/DC's Live Wire. I get to start us off here. Nothing too special, just keep on the B note. Not too flashy but hey, it sounds cool. Next the guitar joins in, then the drums, we kick into the main part, and finally, the vocals join us.
Once we get through the song, we tell the sound guy what we need in our monitors. I need to hear a little more of the vocals, but once we dial that in, we're good to go, and soon, it'll be showtime.

Now that we've gotten to the show, I've gotta talk to someone in charge to work out a couple details, namely any breaks we need, our money at the end, and what else they might want us to do or need from us. Luckily, the guy I talked to was pretty cool, so I'm not worried about anything. Good thing the other guys are setting up. Oh, there he is, just the guy I'm looking for. I go up to the guy who I talked to on the phone, Harry, and we get to discussing any last minute details. Alright, so he's good with any breaks we want to take, which should just be 2, cause we have our set list split into 3. Nothing to worry about with payment since weather is looking good and won't force them to cancel. Time to go back to the guys, see how they're doing, and update them on the details.
Well now that they're in the loop, it's time for sound check. Once we get through Live Wire, my monitor mix is all good, and I don't need adjustments. Show time is coming up and it's time to look the part. Good thing I brought all the extra things I want to use to help look the part. I've just gotta grab my sunglasses and the hat I wanna wear, and then I'll be good to go. I can't wait!
